Plant Sale Text: Dwarf indigo bush is a shrub-like member of the Pea family found in the sandy soils of the coastal plain and sandhills. It is not a true woody shrub, as its herbaceous stems die back each winter and return the following spring. It produces long wands of blue-violet flowers at the tips of its branches in early summer. The numerous small flowers are frequented by a variety of insects, so it is a great pollinator plant. It is a tough, drought-tolerant plant that does best with ample sunlight. The genus Amorpha supports up to 23 species of lepidoptera.
